THE council serving Audlem, near Market Drayton, has welcomed this week’s Budget statement.
Councillor Wesley Fitzgerald, leader of Cheshire East Council, said: “Cheshire East Council welcomes Chancellor George Osborne’s Budget statement. The details may take some time to sift through, but there is no doubt that this is a Budget to help ensure Britain’s economic recovery and deliver stable and sustainable economic prosperity for our future.
“The Chancellor’s statement regarding the reduction of corporation tax is good news.
“As a council we are committed to continuing to create the conditions for business growth and the creation of jobs while protecting and promoting essential services for the people of Cheshire East.
“The council’s recent business plan showed our commitment to still further improving our efficiency at delivering services, while helping nurture economic growth and unlocking the potential of our towns across the borough.
