Christmas fair spreads festive cheer

Russell Taylor of Lloyds Interiors in Cheshire Street is among those taking part in the annual Christmas fair today at the Corbrook Country Estate.

It runs from 11am to 3pm and there is free admission for visitors who will be able to choose from a range of Christmas cards, decorations and festive gifts.

There will also be handmade Christmas wreaths, jewellery, cakes and kitchenware, as well as gift ideas from Lloyds Interiors.

Russell said: “This is a new thing for us and we have a little bit more time now to do some of these events.

“We’ve not done a Christmas fair in Audlem before but we’ve been told it’s a well-attended event and when we were asked if we’d do it, we gladly accepted.

“We just like to try and do these things because Audlem is an area where we get customers from and hopefully it’ll give them an opportunity to see us.

“It’s also a bit of an opportunity to help on the charity side of things and we’ll be taking some jewellery, handbags and purses from the shop with us.”

The event will help raise money for the Shropshire Health for Africa Project (SHAPE), a south Shropshire-based charity which helps provide medical care for rural communities in Africa.

Philippa Bason from Morris Residential, which runs Corbrook Country Estate, said: “The Christmas fair is a great opportunity for people to shop for gifts, cards and decorations in a relaxed environment. All members of the public are welcome and we greatly value their support.”
