An event designed to promote the wide range of quality food produce in Market Drayton will take place tomorrow.
Buttercross Farm Foods, of Shiffords Grange Farm, is holding an open day to celebrate British Food Fortnight.
The free event will be held from 11am to 3.30pm.
Visitors will be able to sample Buttercross’s sausages, black pudding and pork pies, as well as cheeses, pickles, cakes and ice creams from producers in the area.
Another treat for visitors will be the attendance of the Ironbridge Catering Company with their authentic American Ironhorse barbecue smoker.
They will be slowly smoking Buttercross pork over oak and applewood, to produce delicious hot pork rolls.
For those wanting to see more of the farm and the animals there will be a chance to help feed the rare herd of large black pigs. They can also join a farm walk at 11.30am.
Helen Rowley, who runs Buttercross Farm with her husband Martyn, said: “We try to run something every year for British Food Fortnight – it is a big national event in which lots of local producers get involved.
“For anyone who is not aware of the good food available within the area, it’s a good opportunity to help them see what is here.
“It was a fantastic day last year, we had a lot of people here and it will be nice to do it for them again.
“What is new this year is the great big American smoking barbecue. It is a good thing to see in itself and it roasts the meat in about 12 hours and it tastes absolutely fantastic.”
