Mum proud as Freddie survives again!

The mother of Shropshire’s Big Brother contestant Freddie Fisher has told the Shropshire Star she is “very proud” of her son but misses having him around.

Ann Fisher, from Market Drayton was speaking after 24-year-old Freddie survived eviction night after being nominated to leave the house for a third week running.

Freddie, who changed his name legally to Halfwit, won the public vote to stay and fellow contestant Angel was instead booted out of the house on Friday.

Today Mrs Fisher said she thought her son had handled himself well, despite other housemates treating him unkindly.

“I’m pleased for him that he’s stayed in but we miss having him around, it’d be nice to have a chat with him, it’s strange seeing him there but not being able to talk to him,” she said.

“I was sorry to see Angel go because I thought she was an interesting person, and she and Freddie got on well with each other so I was sorry that it was her and Freddie up against each other,” she said.

“I’m sure they will still keep nominating him, they seem to have it in for him, he’s been nominated for the last three Fridays! He’s there being his own person and that’s all he can do.

“I think he’s done really well so far, I’m proud of the way he’s handled it even when people haven’t been being very nice, he hasn’t turned nasty on other people, he will say what he thinks but he doesn’t say it in a vindicative way or a nasty way.”

Mrs Fisher was in London for eviction night on Friday with her other son, 21-year-old Charlie and Freddie’s friend, Ravi Chopra.

“We enjoyed the atmosphere, there was quite a buzz to the place and Charlie was standing up for his brother so it was nice.

“We were taken to a separate room for friends and family, and we watched it with two of Angel’s friends who were there, so it was a nice atmosphere and we were all saying it was a shame they were up against each other.

“We will just take it week by week,” she said.

Mrs Fisher said when Freddie told fellow housemates they were “sheep” instead of shepherds, he was not being unkind.

She said: “I thought it was really interesting the way he was saying that, it wasn’t a nasty negative analogy. Just at the moment some people are staying with the crowd and gradually people are being themselves more and being more individual. It’s quite an interesting analysis.”
